The University of Queensland, QLD, Australia

Dr Xaria Li is a postdoctoral researcher in the Woodruff Laboratory of Neuroinflammation, The University of Queensland. She has 8 years of experience in drug development and compound testing towards complement receptors and demonstrates expertise in immunology, pharmacology, and molecular cell biochemistry. Dr Li has developed novel, efficient drug screening techniques for complement modulating compounds on diverse in vitro models. She frequently collaborates with other academic research groups and has had several consulting engagements with pharmaceutical companies to contribute to the preclinical drug development effort. Dr Li completed her PhD at UQ in 2021 investigating the immunopharmacology of the complement receptors, C5aR1 and C5aR2. Now as an early-career researcher, her main research interest lies in understanding the intricate crosstalks between the complement and the pattern-regulation receptors and how these can be targeted to treat human diseases.
