A*STAR Peptide Engineering Platform (PEP): Targeting Macrocyclic Modalities for Protein-Protein Interactions (#221)
Protein-protein interactions are at the heart of all cellular functions and biological processes, therefore their disruption can lead to novel therapeutic agents and research probes to further our understanding of biochemical pathways. After the identification of promising hits, iterative rounds of chemical modifications are often necessitated (usually performed in a parallel manner, varying a single diversity reagent) to optimise the topological complexity of the compounds. This can be resource-intensive and time-consuming.
Our peptide engineering programme is focused on research that enables peptide technologies towards the development of novel peptide secondary structures with applications in therapeutics as well as diagnostics and material science. Current progress towards the use of diversity-oriented technologies to access novel modalities and diversity space will be highlighted.
